About

Welcome to RESONANS, where on OCTOBER of 2024, Nørrebro (Copenhagen) will transform into a dynamic hub for multimedia exploration at the intersection of art and environmental consciousness, a celebration of community: the local, the nordic, the international. This upcoming festival is not just an event; it aims to be a community-driven platform that encourages active participation in blending digital, interdisciplinary and traditional art forms to engage with pressing ecological themes and serves as a reason to bring us all closer together.

Our offerings

  • Collaborative Creation: RESONANS will foster a space where artists and activists co-create. Bringing to life important conversations.
  • Cultural Fusion: Our program hopes to reflect the Nordic cultural heritage infused with contemporary creative expressions internationally and highlighting our local talent. This fusion will offer a dynamic and varied experience to our audience.
  • Global Interaction: Upholding our Nordic roots and diverse backgrounds, RESONANS will embrace global perspectives. All languages welcome.

Engaging Our Audience

RESONANS actively engages its audience through multiple channels, mainly Facebook, Instagram, this website, and the physical wor(l)d. We are partnering with local venues, cultural organizations, educational institutions and Nordic institutions to host this concept, utilizing digital platforms for continuous engagement, and implementing strategic marketing to showcase the unique interplay of everything RESONANS represents.

Join Us

RESONANS invites everyone – from artists, cultural organizations, and environmentalists to scientists and the curious public – to be part of this immersive multimedia experience. In October, it will be more than a festival; it will be a participatory journey. It is indeed the celebration of Red Door’s 15th anniversary, but if we all like what we’re doing, then why not do it again?

WHO IS RESONANS

This festival is created as a celebration of the 15th anniversary of RED DOOR MAGAZINE, and directed by MADAM NEVERSTOP.

WE ARE MANY, locally, Nordically and globally, participating in the creation of the event, so please be patient while we release more information in the spring.

Lalo Barrubia

is a writer, translator, performance artist, and social researcher born in Montevideo in 1967. As a poet, she has published numerous books and participated in festivals and readings in various parts of the world. Some of her poems have been translated into several languages. As a narrator, she has published novels and short stories that stand out for their depiction of a generation that grew up during the authoritarian 1970s in South America and was forced into adulthood without role models, navigating successive economic crises.

She approaches performance as an experimentation in the art of words, space, and sound, and has participated in festivals and exhibitions in both traditional and alternative spaces.

Pablo Saborío

Pablo Saborío is a visual artist and poet originally from Costa Rica, now based
in Copenhagen, Denmark. He serves as the poetry editor for Red Door

Columbia Journal, Conduit, Rigorous, Posit, West Trade Review, and DASH. His
debut poetry collection in Spanish, El individuo y su ceniza, was released by
Valparaíso Ediciones in the spring of 2024 in Spain.

Doktor Hansen

The wizard of Oz behind the good sound of our festival and structural intelligence. Refreshingly, the doc is known for staying behind the curtains. There’s no trace on social media of his whereabouts. Might need to fax him to update this bio.
