Lives and works in CopenhagenHG Madsen’s primary practice is figurative acrylic painting. He investigates aspects of society and modern civilization by portraying specific human figures and characters from everyday life, aiming to frame what you could call a human paradox. The individuals in HG Madsens paintings are often displayed in a flawed non flattering manner. This “tribute” to imperfection in the character building is important in HG Madsens work, because by this approach you can trigger a more fragile and naked depiction or as the late Leonard Cohen pronounces it:“There is a Crack in Everything. That’s How the Light Gets In” (L. Cohen)HG Madsen holds a master’s degree in educational anthropology and you could observe his work as a sort of visual anthropology. Parallel to his work as a painter HG Madsen has been working professionally in the field of web design and animation.

  Working under the seudonym of Madam Neverstop, Colombian-American poet, and multimedia artist Elizabeth Torres intertwines poetry, visions and soundscapes with language and performance across various art forms and media.

Colombian/American artist and squatter of the Lower East Side of New York, Jose Osorio, brings a new series of paintings, a reflection on the passing of time, and the open wounds that remain unhealed and unfilled through lifetimes in wait, in displacement, weathering war, hopelessness and disenchantment.

Esben Holk @House of KILLING feat Esben Holk is a programmer and artist (-collective). They converse on the digital/virtual reflections of our human nature.

Tom Topp is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist whose creative journey began in childhood. Exploring mediums such as music, poetry, videos, photography, painting, and installations, Tom seeks to express visions and ideas inspired by quantum physics, non-duality, cosmology, and ancient knowledge reinterpreted through modern science.

Themes of light and motion, natural phenomena, reflections, electric nature, and fragmented dreams are central to Tom’s work. Based at ArtLab 21 in Copenhagen, Tom continues to experiment and create in this dynamic studio and gallery space.

Birgitte Moos Chalcraft lives and works in Copenhagen.

Birgitte’s multidisciplinary approach is characterized by a connection between the psychological exploration of the human mind and consciousness, through themes such as be-ability, spirituality, and physics, and the visual representation of our physical surroundings. She blends scenography, immersive installations, digital art, painting and text.

Birgitte has received several awards and has participated in numerous exhibitions and performances in Denmark and abroad.

is a writer, translator, performance artist, and social researcher born in Montevideo in 1967. As a poet, she has published numerous books and participated in festivals and readings in various parts of the world. Some of her poems have been translated into several languages. As a narrator, she has published novels and short stories that stand out for their depiction of a generation that grew up during the authoritarian 1970s in South America and was forced into adulthood without role models, navigating successive economic crises. She approaches performance as an experimentation in the art of words, space, and sound, and has participated in festivals and exhibitions in both traditional and alternative spaces.

Kristín Svava Tómasdóttir is a poet and historian in Reykjavík, Iceland. She has published four books of poetry, the latest one, Hetjusögur (2020), being awarded the Icelandic Women´s Prize for Fiction.

Kristín Svava was one of the editors of the poetry series Meðgönguljóð (Take-Away Poems), published from 2012 to 2018, and has translated both poetry and fiction into Icelandic, for example Valerie Solanas‘s feminist manifesto SCUM and Cuban author Virgilio Piñera‘s poem La isla en peso. Kristín Svava holds an MA degree in history from the University of Iceland and has also written, in books and articles, on cultural history, the history of medicine and the history of sexuality, women and gender in Iceland.

Writer, filmmaker, anthropologist, activist, cultural manager, educator. Her work spans different disciplines and themes: poetry, essays, articles, audiovisual scripts and documentaries, where she addresses history, culture, politics, gender, indigenous cosmovisions, among other issues.

Dominic Williams is a poet, a performer and creative mentor. He is one half of the improvised spoken-word and movement act, “Your Strangest Friend”, with contemporary dancer Stina Nilsson and part of the FYD collective, contemporary artists from Serbia, Sweden, Croatia and Wales. He is a poetry editor and has cooperated with poets translating work from Bengali, Turkish, Serbian and Swedish. In summer 2022 a vinyl album was released, “Poetry is Dead”, which includes some of Dominic’s poetry accompanied by a Swedish three-piece punk band.

Gnattie (Nathalie Sallegren), is an Australian poet living in Finland who writes & performs rhythmic spoken word. She has modified her behaviour in an attempt to fit into society yet manages to infiltrate the Finnish community by sitting on the board of her local cultural association (Västnyländska kultursamfundet) & on the migrant advisory board for Raseborg City. Gnattie grew up in Papua New Guinea, the outback of Australia & spent her early adulthood in Central Australia. With French & British roots she carries her consciousness throughout her writing. Published in anthologies in Australia and the UK, she remains active online in slams, open mics and features internationally. Continuing now to perform live in Finland she was the first English speaking qualifier for the Finnish SM slam 2018. Recently facilitating Ekphrasis workshops in Raseborg, Nathalie’s own work dissects discrimination, disconnection, and the vulgarity of small-mindedness.

Daniel Malpikka is a Finnish-Mexican writer, graphic designer, publisher and multimedia artist. His work involves the exploration of cross-narratives, transmediality, design and literary arts. As an artist and curator, Malpica has developed multiple transdisciplinary literary projects across Europe, the Nordics, and Mexico. Malpica was editor and designer of Radiador Magazine and, between 2019-2022, a member of the board of directors of the Finnish PEN.

His most recent books, ‘Se escribe con X’ and ‘Manuke Libre’, have received support from the Finnish Arts Council (TAIKE) and the Kone Foundation.

Poet, multimedia artist and literary translator. Recipient of the Ambroggio Award from the American Academy of Poets for her book Lotería: Nocturnal Sweepstakes, University of Arizona Press (US). Her latest book, Miserabilia, is a poetry compilation translated to Swedish by Jonas Ellerström released in 2024. Elizabeth is the author of more than 20 books of poetry, for which she has received international recognition.  Elizabeth has a background in Fine Arts and Media & Film in the US, and earned an MFA in Writing from the National School of Performing Arts in Denmark. 

She directs Red Door gallery, the international poetry archive The Poetic Phonotheque, and the cultural magazine Red Door, as well as the cultural podcast Red Transmissions.

Pablo Saborío is a visual artist and poet originally from Costa Rica, now based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He serves as the poetry editor for Red Door Magazine. His work has been published in multiple literary journals including Columbia Journal, Conduit, Rigorous, Posit, West Trade Review, and DASH. His debut poetry collection in Spanish, El individuo y su ceniza, was released by Valparaíso Ediciones in the spring of 2024 in Spain.

Patrick Horner (he/him) is a Canadian poet and engineer based in Denmark. He specializes in developing water treatment technologies. Patrick’s literary works, encompassing poetry
and fiction, have been featured internationally in various journals and magazines. As a dedicated cultural organizer, he contributes to Red Door and serves as a co-director of the
Copenhagen Poetry Film Festival, “Nature and Culture.” Patrick has facilitated writing workshops in diverse settings, including prisons and psychiatric hospitals, and currently leads a weekly workshop at Copenhagen’s Literaturhaus. His debut poetic novel, “Refugia,” was released by the University of Calgary Press in 2022.

Stephen James Smith, born in Dublin, is an Irish poet, writer, performer, playwright, and educator. Their short poetry films have captivated millions, earning them the opportunity to perform alongside notable names like Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Patti Smith, Shane MacGowan, Bono (U2), Imelda May, and Glen Hansard. With close to 1,000 gigs worldwide over the past 20 years. As a recording artist, Stephen’s work has been lauded both nationally and internationally, leading to Stephen being dubbed “Dublin’s unofficial poet laureate.” His creations have been extensively published, translated into eight languages, and have received numerous awards and nominations.

Ángela García was born in Medellín, Colombia, in 1957 and now resides in Malmö, Sweden. She is a poet, translator, cultural manager, and a co-founder of the International Poetry Festival in Medellín.

Ángela is the author of a dozen poetry books, with the most recent titles being They Kneel to Drink (Ed. Visor), winner of the 2021 Casa de América Prize for American Poetry, and her collected poems Steps That Go, Steps That Return (Ed. Animal Sospechoso, Barcelona, 2023).

She has translated Swedish poets and writers into Spanish and has co-directed two poetic documentaries. Currently, she directs World Poetry Day in Malmö/Lund. 

Jonas Ellerström is one of the most distinguished independent publishers in Sweden today. A writer and critic, he is also an acclaimed translator of authors such as William Blake, Arthur Rimbaud, and T.S. Eliot. With Malena Mörling, he is co-translator of The Star By My Head: Poets from Sweden. He lives in Stockholm.

Elżbieta Wójcik-Leese is a multilingual writer, accredited coach and book artist. Her site-
specific verbal and visual texts use such analogue processes as botanical inkmaking,
cyanotype, pinhole photography and expressive handwriting. She co-curates and runs ‘Transreading’ courses on translocal and hybrid poetries for the Poetry School in London.
Her most recent English translation, of Małgorzata Lebda’s Queen Cells, appeared in August from Broken Sleep Books. As a Fulbright scholar, she worked at the Elizabeth Bishop archives. Currently based in Denmark, she teaches creative and research writing at the University of Copenhagen and is a ‘creative ambassador’ for the Møn UNESCO Biosphere.

Anna Valdís Kro (1978) is a queer writer, project manager, artist and aunt. She is one of the founding members of Ós Pressan, a writers collective based in Reykjavík, Iceland. She likes languages, spoken and signed, culture and colors. Her texts have been published in Ós – the Journal and Contemporary Verse 2, and as a broadsheet by Ós Pressan.

Éfrin González, a cultural manager, poet, and technology specialist, has lived in Denmark since 2010. He founded the Copenhagen Literature Festival in 2013, leading it until 2022, and collaborated with institutions like the University of Copenhagen and Aurora Boreal. He managed cultural affairs at Casa Latinoamericana from 2013 to 2016. From 2021 to 2023, he worked as a freelance editor for SAGA EGMONT and as a Senior Software Engineer. Currently, he balances his interests in technology and art, working on personal literary projects while strengthening cultural ties between Latin America and Scandinavia.

Dancing Painter, Mandala Maker, and Writer. Tina Prem Israni is the granddaughter of Sindhi refugees, daughter of Indian Immigrants and now a resident of Bornholm, Denmark. Stories of migration and their subsequent impact on the evolution of culture and society are her fascination. By day she works as a human experience designer and by evening she is a psychotherapeutic counsellor with a focus on using art as a form of therapy. Painting, dance and writing have allowed for her rawest expressions to be realized. Tina is an exhibited artist in Denmark and Germany where she has danced paint onto canvas as performance art. She is currently working on her first collection of poetry and short stories, although she has been writing since a child. She is ready for her voice to be heard. She is a weaver of prose, poetry, and dance. She is a weaver of humans into community

Love and eroticism are his main themes, but he also captivates the reader with his humor and humanism.

Grace Wilentz is a poet based in Dublin’s The Liberties. Her first collection, The Limit of Light (The Gallery Press), was named one of the best books of 2021 in The Irish Times and The Irish Independent. Recently she was received the Next Generation Artist Award from the Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon. Her poetry has been featured in Poetry Ireland Review, The Stinging Fly, The Irish Times and on RTÉ radio.

Morten Ranum (1964) Master degree in History and Geography from Roskilde Unoverty (1995). He has published 5 collections of poetry, one shortstory collection and features in various journals. Since 2022 hosting the Podcast “Foreignness and Friendship” with essays, conversations, reportage and reviews.

Nina Sokol is a poet and translator in the midst of translating plays, poems and novels by Danish writers. She was a grant poet-in-residence at The Vermont Studio Center in 2011. She has received several grants from the Danish Art’s Council to translate plays, including a play written by the fairy tale writer H.C. Andersen which was published by the journal “InTranslation.” She has also translated numerous novels by such writers as Robert Zola Christensen, Kristian Himmelstrup, whose novel, Pio, was nominated for DR Roman Prisen in 2023 (literary prize in Denmark), Thomas Lagermand Lundme, and Michael Katz Krefeld. Her first poetry collection, Escape and Other Poems, was published by Lapwing Publications in Belfast, Ireland (2015).  Her second poetry collection in English, The Silence Sound Makes, was published in 2023 by Spuyten Duyvil Press in New York City.

Chilean composer, improviser, guitar player, and educator who has been developing his work in the fields of so called Experimental and Improvised Music. With background in chamber/contemporary music as well as Jazz, Gubbins has been a restless artist, constantly in the searching for sparkling sounds. Particularly interested in the edge between image and sound, Gubbins is currently investigating typologies and graphic devices to notate, represent and delimit certain musical contexts, aiming for giving flexibility to improvisational structures. Gubbins also works as a self-taught designer for projects related to music and/or art, making album covers, posters or whatever may be appear. Taking influence form architecture his music is constantly daydreaming about the idea to build “solid but immaterial” structures, capable of allowing coexistence, life and magic to happen.

We are Claudia Adeath, Photographer (Mexico), Fernando Massino, Musician (Argentina), and Claudia Cohen, Writer (Mexico). As three immigrant artists from Latin America living in Copenhagen, we founded CkulturA (www.ckultura.org) in 2012 to create an intercultural bridge between Latin America and Denmark.

Over the past 12 years, CkulturA has offered platforms for various artists to present their work, fostering a vibrant exchange of cultural expressions.

In 2023, we united our skills to develop the project ‘My Window, My Frame.’ This multimedia installation delves into the facts, thoughts, and perceptions of individuals as they connect with their inner selves.

Often hilarious, sometimes outrageous always thought provoking New Zealand born poet David Davies takes some well aimed digs at the foibles of the human condition with poetry of wicked humour and raw feeling, held together by the infectious grooves of Danish bass player Carsten Giesel.

Since getting together The Poet Bastards have been delivering high octane performances in schools, clubs, libraries, pubs, festivals and bordellos throughout Northern Europe collecting faithful fans along the way, opening doors for poetry.

MAG is the soloprojekt of Magdalena Ågren and still a well-kept Gothenburg secret, who every now and then leaves the Swedish underworld and pops up at different alternative festivals and venues magnetizing Europe’s underground scene.

With her long tentacles forward and backward in time she enters the stage and performs demonically blaring megaphone vocals, seductively trombone melodies, drum machineslams, and rabbitsyntezis terror noises, creating a permissive world to marvel at.

MAG enchants the audience with her distorted punk trombone pop. EN FIS I RYMDEN, her second album manages to be powerfully personal yet privately political at the same time as you dance your way through the beats with your wagging tails.

Blago Bung has established itself as a classic in the post-punk scene, accented by Martti Soutkari’s exceptional melodies and lyrics at the helm. Despite their longstanding influence, the band continues to attract new fans. Recently, they’ve expanded their lineup with keyboardist Petter Herbertsson from Testbild!, and have been active with a live performance schedule that features a seamless mix of both new and classic tracks. Their distinctive sound remains unchanged—Bung is unmistakably unique among Swedish bands, evoking a blend of Blå Tåget and The Raincoats. The current lineup includes Martti Soutkari on vocals, guitar, and songwriting; Kamilla Lindström on vocals; Jonas Ellerström on bass and guitar; Petter Herbertsson on synth, melodica, and guitar; Jan Fornell on synth; and Ingemar Breithel on saxophone for encores.

Thomas Büchel is a German musician, living in Copenhagen since ten years. After studying music at the conservatory Maastricht/ NL with a focus on jazz guitar, he became increasingly influenced by various other musical styles. Eventually, electronic music took on a significant role in his work, and modular synthesizers became his second main instrument. As a guitarist, electronic musician, and producer, he has worked in a wide range of diverse bands and projects for over 20 years, releasing music both on his own and as a collaborator. While he works across all kinds of genres, from Jazz to Pop, from Doom to the songs of Berthold Brecht, free improvisation has always been the core from which everything begins, and all styles are reflected and reinterpreted in his work.

The Tremolo Beer Gut plays old school surf & western, a genre they’ve thought up themselves, which draws inspirations from the ultra cool rough twangy guitar sound of 50’s and 60’s surf as well as the great film music of Mancini, Barry and Morricone. The songs are short and instrumental (apart from occasional shouting and carrying on).

TBG has made it their style to use the same cover-photo for all their releases, they just change the color and design a little bit. As they say: “You can’t improve on perfection – and by the way: when you’re drunk, it’s easier to remember the color of the sleeve than the name of the record!”

Två Män i en Dambob is a duo with the artist Karl Larsson from Gothenburg and the poet and publisher Magnus Grehn. We started in 2015 and play noise-couplets and schlagers inspired from old swedish songs from the 20s to the 50s.
